The fixture was organised to assist the coaches assess their players’ skills and improvement following the summer and autumn training programme.

Munster currently have four U16 cadet squads which are chosen from clubs throughout the province. The cadet squad players feed into the U17 development squad where the Munster youths team is chosen from.
