A selection of players from the Daughters of Charity in Munster recently took part in a challenge match at Garryowen Rugby Club.

The Waterford side hit back and eventually Morgan McCormack found a gap in the Midleton defence to score under the posts and Eoin OConnor converted. A penalty on the stroke of half time by OConnor had Newtown 10-5 in front.
Twelve minutes into the second half Daniel Pim extended Newtowns lead with a try and they looked in complete control until Colin OBrien kicked a penalty for Midleton approaching the final minute of normal time.
Midleton did launch a late assault to try and draw level but Newtown held out for a famous victory.
