Founded on the 22nd November 1963, Youghal RFC this season celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Tries by Ger Slattery, Aaron Carroll and Ian Cross and two penalties and two conversions by Alan Kingsley earned Young Munster a 25-10 win at Clifford Park against holders Shannon. Garry McNamara scored a try for Shannon and Tadhg Bennett kicked two penalties.
Holders Cork Constitution defeated Sunday's Well 24-5 to reach the Cork Charity Cup final on the back pitch in Musgrave Park. Cronan Healy scored two tries for the winners and Richard Lane and Peter O'Mahony got one each. Lane added two conversions. Michael Moynihan scored a late try for the home side.
Dolphin overcame Highfield 32-5 at Woodleigh Park. Barry O'Mahony, Niall Walley, Niall O'Driscoll and Danny Barnes scored tries for the winners and Barry Keeshan kicked three conversions and two penalties. Cillian Bohane replied with a try for Highfield.
The big shock in the Transfield Cup was Presentation's 21-18 away win over Abbeyfeale. Stuart Madden scored two tries and Eoin Lynch kicked a conversion and three penalties for the winners.
Holders U.L. Bohemian defeated Bruff 15-5 and there were also victories for Richmond 25-3 victors over Newcastle West and Thomond who defeated St. Mary's 15-9. The Old Crescent v Young Munster was postponed due to a water logged pitch.
Youghal caused a shock in the opening round of the Cork County Cup with a 29-18 away win over Crosshaven. Steven Kelly scored two tries for the winners and Stephen Twohig and Mark Hennessy got one each. Jonathon Ormond kicked three conversions and a penalty. Crosshaven replied with tries from Paul Cogan, Andrew Harrington and Paul Memory with Andrew Lane kicking a penalty.
Galbally booked their place in the Garryowen Cup Final with an 11-9 away win over Newport. Liam Casey scored a try and two penalties for the winners and Newport replied with a drop goal by Brian Collins and two penalties from Philip O'Brien.
Kilfeacle booked their place in the other semi final where they will face Clonmel following their 21-12 victory over Thurles.
Cashel got back to winning ways after last week's defeat by Newport with a 30-14 win over Nenagh Ormond in the Mansergh Cup.
In the Dennehy Cup holders Ballincollig made their exit in the opening round when they lost away to Highfield 14-12. Kevin Ryan kicked four penalties for the Tanner Park side and Highfield replied with a try by Kyle McNally and three penalties by Brian O'Hea.
Nigel Murphy and Dave O'Brien scored tries for Cork Constitution and Rob Johnson kicked a penalty in their 13-5 away win over Kinsale. Ian O'Leary replied with a try for the home side.
Tries by Tim Cotter, Martin Ahern, Paul Yelverton and Dan Daly helped Dolphin to a 20-0 victory over Clonakilty at Musgrave Park.
Bantry Bay defeated Crosshaven 5-3. Stephen Kelly scored the all important try for the visitors and Rory Galvin replied for Crosshaven with a penalty.
The West Cork side will face Sunday's Well in the quarter final, after the Musgrave Park side defeated Muskerry 12-3. Kenny Barry and David Sweeney scored tries for the winners and Barry added a conversion. Eoin Keohane replied with a penalty for the home side.
Two penalties by John Tait helped Carrigaline to a 6-5 victory over Douglas. Dave O'Connor replied with a try for the visitors. Carrigaline will now meet Bandon after the West Cork side defeated Dunmanway 6-3.
