Of the eight first round ties there is only one all First Division clash when Garryowen host Dolphin. The winners of this tie will face the winners of the Clonakilty Shannon tie.
Holders Cork Constitution begin their defence with a trip to Musgrave Park to face Sundays Well, with the winners at home to either Thomond or Highfield.
Last seasons beaten finalists Old Crescent must face U.L. Bohemian in the opening round with either Midleton or U.C.C. awaiting the winners in the quarter final.
Cashel the only Junior side in the draw will have home advantage against Nenagh Ormond in an all Tipperary tie. Cashel who reached the semi final of this competition a few years ago will fancy their chances of advancing and a meeting against either Bruff or Young Munster in the quarter final.
