Skipper and number 8, Ian McCarthy scored two tries in as many minutes as Glenstal retained the Mungret Shield (Munster u15) at a rain and windswept Glenstal on Wednesday.
Backed by the breeze Glenstal only led at the interval with a penalty from Luke Bradley but they upped their performance in the second half.
But McCarthys tries after 38 and 40 minutes, had Glenstal in control and the icing was on the cake when centre Rob Shanahan had another try to make it 18-0.
Scrum half Dara Phillips had a try for St Clements but Genstal had the final say when wing forward Kevin Lynch went over and Bradley converted in the last minute.
At Glenstal: Mungret Shield (Munster U15) Final:
Glenstal Abbey, 25, I McCarthy, 2 tries, R Shanahan, K Lynch, try each, L Bradley, 1 pen, 1 con)
St Clements, 5 (D Phillips, try).
