In what proved to be a physical contest that saw each side having a player red carded and CBC’s cause was not helped by a yellow card to another of their players. Winger Rhys Joyce brought the Limerick side back into the game with a try. A penalty by Conor Linehan gave Castletroy an 8-7 interval lead.
Six minutes into the second half Linehan extended Castletroy’s advantage with a penalty.
Sensing an upset Christian’s rallied and Quinlan closed the gap to a point with a penalty and substitute Cillian Monohan kicked the winning penalty with minutes left.
