Coaching Drills: Openside Wing Forward Play

Skills - Lines of running, reaction & tackling / securing etc

Set Up:

3 bags (1, 2, 3) are set staggered (reverse) 1m and 7m apart. (1st bag is 10m from post). On signal flanker detaches and sprints to first bag to tackle it, coach shouts pass then flanker moves onto next bag etc

Player then returns to post after each go (10 attempts).

Openside Wing Forward Play

Development:

• Bags may be placed on the ground & a ball placed behind it. Flanker required to retrieve ball
• No.8 may support No.7 who feeds him the ball off the ground etc Options

Groups:

Minimum of 3-4 players.
